Alejandro Gonzáles Gerwig

Alejandro González Gerwig (2007, Germany) was born into a musical family and began his piano lessons at the age of three. He is the winner of several competitions, including the Bechstein Solo Competition (2022), the German Youth Competition Jugend musiziert (2023), and the Westfälischer Van-Bremen Competition (2023). He has also won first prizes in piano duo with his sister, Valeria, at Steinway (2015, 2019), Bechstein (2016, 2023), and Jugend musiziert (2021). Alejandro is a scholar of the Dörken Stiftung and received numerous scholarships, including from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Promos program. Alejandro made his orchestral debut at just 11 years old and has performed in venues such as the Cologne Philharmonie, Essen Philharmonie, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, and Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, where he began in Precollege at age 12 under the guidance of Fabio Bidini. Alejandro has participated in masterclasses with musicians such as Leif Ove Andsnes and Zlata Chochieva. He was also the youngest performer at the Gala for Beethoven’s 250th anniversary in Bonn, which was broadcasted to millions.
