BIOGRAPHY

Carlos Marín Rayo (Madrid, 1994) is currently studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the direction of Frank van de Laar. He previously studied at the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Zwolle and in Madrid (Spain). In Spain he followed lessons from, among others, Mariana Gurkova, Joaquín Soriano, Graham Jackson and Nino Kereselidze. He is a prize winner of various competitions such as the Euterpe International Piano Competition in Corato, Italy (1st prize, 2016); Ciudad de Albacete Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Albacete, Spain (1st prize, 2016); Marisa Montiel – Ciudad de Linares Competition in Linares, Spain (1st prize, 2018). He performs regularly in important concert halls and at festivals in Spain such as the Auditorio Nacional, Teatros del Canal, Fundación Juan March (Madrid), Palau de la Música (Valencia), Miguel Delibes Auditorium (Valladolid) and Festival de Segovia. Carlos has also performed in Portugal, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. As a soloist he has played works by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, among others.
