Luís Vaz

Luís Vaz (2003, Portugal) began his musical journey at the age of seven, displaying a deep passion for the piano. He participated in master classes at his local music school and performed in recitals and class concerts. Luís has been recognized both nationally and internationally, winning prizes at prestigious competitions such as the International Piano Competition Santa Cecilia, the International Competition Cidade do Fundão, and the Piano Competition Póvoa do Varzim. His achievement as the best Portuguese participant in the International Piano Competition Santa Cecilia at the age of 14 led to his debut as a soloist. To further refine his skills, Luís took part in summer courses and master classes with renowned pianists such as Eldar Nebolsin, Elena Richter, Naum Grubert, Mikhail Voskresensky, Frank van de Laar, and Pedro Emanuel Pereira. In 2021, he began his Bachelor’s studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam under the guidance of Hanna Shybayeva. Luís practices on a Steinway grand piano, generously loaned to him by the National Musical Instrument Fund, and has performed in various venues across the Netherlands.
