Marta Mata

Marta Mata (1997, Portugal) started playing piano at the age of eight and one year later she entered the Conservatory of Palmela, in Portugal. She continued her studies at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra (Lisbon) in the classes of Professors Artur Pizarro and Paulo Oliveira. Currently, she studies in Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Professor Frank van de Laar.

She played in many masterclasses by pianists such as Craig Sheppard, Vladimir Tropp, Naum Grubert, Katia Veekmans, Boris Berman, Katya Apekisheva, Lucas Debargue, Josep Colom, Jura Margulis, Marles van Gent, Andreas Ioannides and Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro.

She participated in many competitions, among them the Prémio INATEL / OML 2019 (1st place ex-aequo) and Concurso de Piano de Oeiras 2019 (1st Prize). She performed a recital at Teatro das Figuras (2015), participated in concerts held at the CBB (Dias de Música 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017) and Gulbenkian (2017) and played solo with Orquestra Académica Metropolitana (2019) and with Banda da Sociedade Filarmónica Humanitária de Palmela (2016 and 2017).

Since September 2021 she was awarded with the scholarship from Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian “Formação em Artes no Estrangero”, helping her with her studies abroad.
