Mischa van Tijn

Due to personal circumstances Mischa unfortunately does not play.


Mischa van Tijn (Amsterdam, 2000) started piano lessons in 2008 with Marjès Benoist. In 2013 he started at the Sweelinck Academie of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, first with Marjès Benoist and then with Frank van de Laar. Mischa has attended masterclasses with Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Naum Grubert, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Ralph van Raat, Jan Wijn, Boris Berman, Claudio Martínez Mehner and his piano trio with Marcel Baudet and Malcolm Singer (during The Akoesticum Talent Programme). Mischa is currently studying at the bachelor’s department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In April 2016 Mischa won first prize (and the JON Prize) at the Prinses Christina Concours. In October 2016 he reached the final of the International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Enschede. Since 2017 he has formed with Emma van Schadewijk and violinist Tim de Vries ‘Trio Diotima’, with which he won first prize and the press award at the Prinses Christina Concours 2018. Mischa was five times a soloist with the JeugdOrkest Nederland conducted by Jurjen Hempel and has performed in Het Concertgebouw, De Oosterpoort, De Doelen and Tivoli Vredenburg, among others. Mischa has participated in ‘Festival Maas en Waal’ in Leur, Kamermuziekfestival Hoorn, Kamermuziekfestival Middelburg, ‘Festival Thijl’ in Soesterberg, the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam and The International Holland Music Sessions.
