On Sunday, September 10, Alexander Jansen performs in the YPF Young Virtuosi series. At 3 p.m., he will take his seat behind Youri Egorov’s grand piano in De Duif and play the program below in this third edition of the Young Virtuosi series organized by YPF to offer young talented pianists a stage, a chance to develop further and gain experience.

Alexander Jansen (2005), born in Utrecht, has been enchanted by music since the age of 3. From the age of 7 Alexander received piano lessons from his mother, piano teacher E. Jansen.
From the age of 10 Alexander has increasingly performed for an audience. Since 2015 Alexander has been a student of M. Benoist and from 2017 Alexander is part of the Academy Musical Talent study for young talent at Conservatory of Utrecht.
He is winner of several national and international competition prizes, including:
3rd prize in the highly prestigious YPF Concours Junior 2019
Winner of 1st and 2nd prize in the Prinses Christina Concours
Winner of the ‘Klassiek op het Amstelveld’ competition 2021
Since 2021 Alexander has been a student of concert pianist Thomas Beijer. Early 2022 year Alexander was chosen by the famous pianist Lang Lang, out of many thousands of young pianists from all over the world, to be the only European pianist to participate in the Scholarship of the ‘Lang Lang Foundation’.
In 2021 the YPF launched the Young Virtuosi series for YPF laureates and top young pianists, the ‘Young Virtuosi’, in which they are given the promised opportunity through concerts and master classes to further develop their craftsmanship and bring out the best in themselves. The concerts will take place in De Duif at Prinsengracht 756 in Amsterdam. During the six concerts, YPF laureates and top young pianists will play on the grand piano of legendary pianist Youri Egorov, who died in Amsterdam at the age of 33
