02Feb By Adrian de GroenThu 17 February 2022Concours Finalists of the YPF competition The YPF proudly presents the FINALISTS of the YPF European Piano Competition 2022: Carlos Marín Rayo (Spain), Juan Pedro García Oliva (Spain) and Noah Zhou (United Kingdom). Congratulations to you all! On Sunday February 20 at 14:15 hrs, the three finalists, who not only compete for the First Prize but also for the Grand Prix Youri Egorov and the Audience Prize, play Concerto no 5 of L. van Beethoven (Carlos and Noah) and the Schumann Concerto (Juan Pedro). Phion, Orchestra of Gelderland and Overijssel, conducted by Antony Hermus, accompanies the young piano talents during their concerto’s. In addition, all three conclude the competition with a world premiere for piano solo by the Dutch composer Reza Namavar, Ti’afa’a. During the jury meeting, pianist Yang Yang Cai, first prize winner of the YPF Piano Competition 2019, will perform Sonata no. 3 in B minor, op. 58 of F. Chopin.
