Hanna Shybayeva Hanna Shybayeva (Minsk, 1979) has won many prizes at international competitions, has worked with conductors such as Hans Leenders and Neeme Järvi and has received grants from, among others, the Youri Egorov Foundation and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. In 1999 Hanna came to the Netherlands where she continued her studies with Naum Grubert at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In 2001 she was the winner of the first YPF Piano Competition. She has been a member of the New European Ensemble since 2008 and collaborated on a Canadian-produced documentary based on Prokofiev’s The Unfinished Diaries. She released CDs with, among others, Sonatas by Schubert Sonatas, the complete Etudes-Tableaux op. 33 and on. 39 by Rachmaninov and she made the CD ‘Sounds of War’ (Poulenc, Janacek, Prokofiev) with violinist Maria Milstein. Since 2013, she has been a piano teacher at the International Anton Rubinstein Academy in Düsseldorf and in November 2021 she was appointed piano professor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
