Rosalía Gómez Lasheras (2013)

Having started her piano studies at age 5 with Alexander Gold, Rosalía obtained the Extraordinary Award of Santiago Conservatory in 2011. She entered the Utrecht Conservatory in that same year, where she’s currently in her third Bachelor year, studying with Maestro Alan Weiss. She also met and received advice from such important musicians as Bruno Canino, Julian Martin, Dominique Weber, Imre Rohmann, Lilya Zilberstein, Claudio Martínez Menher, Fou Ts’ong, Galina Egyarzarova, Dimitri Bashkirov and Elisabeth Leonskaja among others. After performing in the main cities in Spain (Galicia, León, Córdoba, Sevilla, Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid) and winning numerous first prizes in the most prestigious competitions, i.a. the XVI Piano Competition Infanta Cristina (Madrid, 2012), the XV Cicle de Primavera (Barcelona, 2012), the Chopin Award at the VII Piano Competition Alto Minho (Portugal, 2010), etc.; her career’s international breakthrough led her to participate in renowned events i.a. the International Summer Academy Mozarteum, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and the ”Moscow Meets Friends” Festival (to which she was invited by the Spivakov Foundation), as well as to many other important stages in The Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Belgium, Germany and Russia. She has a wide experience playing as a soloist with several orchestras, from which her performance of Mozart’s Jeune-homme Concerto under the direction of conductor Philippe Herreweghe stands out. She has been praised by critics and important music personalities for her outstanding artistic maturity. Due to her broad interests, she is also highly active on the fields of Chamber Music and, more recently, Historical Performance. Alan Weiss endorses her the following way: “She is surely among the highest echelon of very gifted young artists I’ve had the privilege of teaching during my 27-year plus career of piano professorship”.
