This second masterclass of the YPF Young Virtuosi series is given by none other than Hannes Minnaar, one of the great Dutch piano masters of the moment, winner of the Dutch Music Prize, laureate of the Princess Christina Competition, celebrated musician in concert halls at home and abroad and member of the jury of the YPF European Piano Competition 2022.

The young talents who will subject their playing to his critical eye and musical ear are Philip Karmanov, Adam Akopian and Jure Jurakic. The Masterclass starts at 2 o’clock in Muziekhaven (Zaandam) and admission is free.

Jure Jurakic – Debussy: L’Isle Joyeuse

Adam Akopian – Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 14

Philip Karmanov – Chopin: Sonata opus 58: 1. Allegro Maestoso

For the real enthusiast, the Young Virtuosi Masterclasses offer an interesting insight into the precision work that goes into mastering a piece. For the young talents it is the chance to look in a new way at a piece they already know well, and to refine their playing, sometimes down to the smallest note.
