The Second and the Third Prize

The Second Prize of the YPF European Piano Competition 2022 was won by Noah Zhou from the United Kingdom.

The Third Prize was awarded to Carlos Marín Rayo from Spain.

The finalists, including First Prize winner Juan Pedro García Oliva, all performed Reza Namavar’s new work, Ti’afa’a. A world premiere.

From the short introduction films, in which the finalists introduced themselves to the public, it appeared that all three finalists experienced this work (of which there is no recording to, for example, get inspiration from, take in and to play) as a tough but also beautiful challenge.
