The YPF European Piano Competition 2022 concludes with ‘A Tribute to Youri Egorov’ on February 19th and the Final on February 20th, 2022 both in Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam.

The piano recital A Tribute to Youri Egorov, performed by members of the jury, has become a true YPF tradition. The evening promises to be an unforgettable event for the piano enthusiast.

The Russian top pianist Youri Egorov, who fled to our country in 1976, died in 1988 at the age of 33 in Amsterdam from the effects of AIDS. Many people still remember him with admiration and sadness.  The Young Pianist Foundation supervises the heritage of Egorov and honors him with this unique tribute concert.

FINALE YPF European Piano Competition 2022
The three best pianists of the European Union incl. the United Kingdom (up to 28 years)

The three finalists, Carlos Marín Rayo, Juan Pedro García Oliva and Noah Zhou  conclude the heavy competition with Concerto no 5 by Beethoven (Carlos and Noah) and Schumann’s Concerto (Juan Pedro). All three also play a the world premiere of a new work by the Dutch composer Reza Namavar.

During the jury meeting, Yang Yang Cai (winner of the YPF Piano Competition 2019), will perform on stage. The award ceremony will take place immediately after the jury meeting.
