Brecht Valckenaers (2000, Belgium) likes to make people part of his passion for music. Playing existing music and creating new music are important elements in his life.

Brecht attended masterclasses with Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Vitaly Samoshko, Eliane Rodrigues, Polina Leschenko, Levente Kende, Hannes Minnaar, Lucas Blondeel, Mariangela Vacatello, Jan Michiels, Piet Kuijken, Jan Vermeulen, Joop Celis and Julien Libeer.

Brecht took part in the Cantabile Piano Competition 2018 where he received the first prize and the prize for the performance of the compulsory work. He also won the Steinway Piano Competition Belgium in 2019. Brecht received a grant from the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe in 2020 and won the first prize of the Andrée Charlier Piano Competition in 2021.
Brecht has experience as a soloist in concertos by Shostakovich, Liszt and Poulenc. In 2021 he was part of ‘DeZes’, a youth panel that followed the Queen Elisabeth competition for national television.
