Webinar ‘How to play the Corona’

A webinar on entrepreneurship for young professionals

Get ready for some inspiration for a career in the music industry! On Friday the 23rd of April, there will be three online sessions about how to keep yourself in the picture, how to make money, and how to increase your visibility on social media during these rough Corona times… Because you don’t want people to forget you!

Who

The Young Pianist Foundation, Grachtenfestival, Cello Biënnale and Nederlands Vioolconcours have joined forces to organize a rich webinar focusing on successful strategies to stay visible in corona times when you cannot perform for a live audience.

What

Meet with Pekka Kuusisto. As a violinist, conductor and composer Pekka Kuusisto is renowned for his artistic freedom and fresh approach to repertoire. How did Corona impact his professional life and what advice does he have to stay focused, inspired and active in these challenging times?

Especially during corona, a strong online presence seems important to remain relevant to your audience. How can you distinguish yourself as a musician through content and social media and respond to the online needs of concert halls? Thomas Beijer speaks with two trail blazers. Iris van der Valk and Merel Vercammen. As a social media manager at The Royal Concertgebouw, Iris van der Valk uses (video) content to create an online brand. Violinist and festival director Merel Vercammen seems to have found the key to staying visible on socials. When Thomas Beijer is not playing the piano, composing or working as director of YPF he enjoys making animations. Check out his Insta!

Yassine Boussaid is director of De Meervaart in Amsterdam. When musicians struggle, how can concert halls take responsibility?

Meet the concert programmers of four major institutions. Cécile Gauder de Beauregard of TivoliVredenburg, Miriam Wijzenbeek of The Royal Concertgebouw, Lestari Scholtes of Grachtenfestival and Frank van Berkel of Bimhuis invite you to their own break out room. Join them and ask them all you want.
